Mad for Matte

So here I have elf’s eyeshadow palette in Mad for Matte.  As the name says, all shades are matte, which I love. 😁 I prefer matte eyeshadows in general, and would choose it any day over shimmery eyeshadows. Anyway, this palette has ten shades. What I love about this palette is that it has neutral colours but still has enough variation that you can get creative with it.

So I bought this one online at elf’s website for $10, which is such a steal. This palette has a sleek look to it and is travel friendly because of its size and packaging, and it also has a decent sized mirror. So the (neutral) variety is really great in my opinion. You can go from a simple eye look to a smoky eye using just these shades, which again, is convenient when you’re traveling.

Swatches:  All in all, I like the colours that comes with the palette. They apply smoothly and evenly, and they’re all pigmented with the exception of one. The shade I’m talking about is the very first colour on the far left of the photo (palette) which is that very light peachy-yellowy nude colour. It didn’t even show up when I swatched it, I don’t know if it was because it didn’t have a primer underneath, but still, you should be able to see it properly even without an eyeshadow primer. I was disappointed with that one because I would have loved to use that as a base shadow, and since every other shade swatched beautifully. So that’s a bit of a bummer, but at least it was just one of them, so I still recommend this palette, and again, for that price, it’s such a good deal. 👍🏼

I finally received these babies today! I’ve been waiting for this collection since I found out that they’re going to release it this year. I wasn’t sure at first which ones I’m going to get, but I couldn’t resist! I had to have all of them. These are so beautiful! 😍💄

Ultra Matte

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on these ever since ColourPop announced about them. I didn’t get all of them because I feel like I can’t really pull them off. If you guys didn’t know, I tend to lean more on the neutral side, nothing too crazy, but I am taking baby steps towards trying/wearing more bright colours because I don’t want my collection to go to waste. 💄💄💄

Anyway, these babies last for-freaking-ever on your lips. I had a meal and all and the colour was still there, bright and brilliant. I really had to use a makeup remover to get the colour off my lips. So depending on each person, it can be a good thing or a bad thing. Also, not gonna lie, they do tend to settle into the lines on your lips so be careful. I think it’ll be fine as long as you exfoliate your lips and keep them moisturized. 👄

My favourites are Solow and Bumble btw. 😉😘 xx

It’s becoming an addiction. 😁😁😁 Got more of the NYX matte lipsticks. It has great pigmentation, lasts a decent amount of time on your lips, and the colour selection is massive. The only thing that bothers me with this is the scent, to me it smells like paint. Although it’s not overpowering or anything, it’s just me really. Also, they tend to feel dry after wearing them for a while, which I guess is what you would expect from a matte lipstick. Other than that, I think these lipsticks are great. 💄👍🏼
